about

Furlined release their new single Kill Devil Hills on 30 June 2021. This is the title track from their forthcoming album, scheduled for release in November 2021. The track is inspired by time spent in and around the North Carolina community of Kill Devil Hills.

It features the outstanding fiddle playing from Georgina Leach, who Neil Crossley happened to see playing with Ethan Johns and the Black Eyed Dogs.

“I saw Georgina playing at a club in Bristol just before the first lockdown last March, sent her the track and asked if she’d be up for playing on it," explains Neil. "I love what she did with it – it's got a raw Appalachian spirit. She nailed it on the second take and it really soars.”

lyrics

Kill Devil Hills, I look at you shine
As we lay down beneath the sycamore and pine
I still crave your company
Kill Devil Hills you made a monster out of me

I want to feel trust
I want to stay free
There's always some temptation pushing down on me
Across the sand we traced our tears
And through the darkness watch the ocean disappear

Kill Devil Hills, I look back on my life
As we lay down beneath the Carolina sky
I still crave your company
Kill Devil Hills you made a monster out of me

Kill Devil Hills, I look back at you now
I don't regret a single moment anyhow
And I still crave your company
Kill Devil Hills you made a monster out of me
